Review From a Friend of Hydro Pacific

Hello my friends and compatriots,

Gardening is evolving at a rapid pace, innovation and technology leading the way. Thank you, Hydro Pacific, for not being a mirage.

Most rewarding gardens are cultivated with a basic understanding of the relationship between plants and their environment. The most rewarding gardens come to fruition by implementing a more complete understanding.

"People strive to achieve success and are limited only by their capacity to do so." I don't know who said that - maybe me… but whether you are a seasoned-pro or a first time grower, surround yourself with the best people you can find. Write yourself a prescription for success by aligning the planets and your business needs with Hydro Pacific. Knowledge and the wisdom there-in is at the heart of their business. Paving the way to a greener planet is the axis upon which it revolves.

Hydro Pacific entrepreneur, Jim Shaw, his family and employees treat people the way they like to be treated. Like an oasis in the sun, Hydro Pacific awaits those who pursue it. You will be pleased to find a wealth of information and state of the art grow products available to you in person or online.

Corporations keep politicians in their back pocket. I keep Hydro Pacific in mine.

Signed,

Ripped Van Winkle - Potter Valley, CA

Hydro Pacific in Ukiah

Thursday, December 31, 2009 2:45:57 PM PST

Ukiah is a sweet little town on Highway 101 in Mendocino County, which is in Northern California. Last census there were about 15,000 people living in the city limits, plus a few thousands more who live remotely but work and shop, eat and party in Ukiah. Folks will tell you it’s a great place to raise kids because it’s safe and quiet. People who live here have a sense of loyalty to each other, and that helps get through hard economic times, not much rain, and the decades-long shift from timber to grapes as the mainstay of the county. We have a lot of pride in our valley, with its grapes and pears, and in the honest ingenuity that keeps the town alive and glowing.

One example of homegrown ingenuity is Hydro Pacific Gardening Supply. Jim Shaw and his wife raised five kids in the Ukiah Valley, big garden, homemade organic baby food and all. Now two daughters, Amanda and Angie, are partners with their father in realizing his dream of a store where organic gardeners can find damn near everything they need and most of what they want, all in one big place.

Well, two places. Last year they opened a second store for Angie in Cloverdale, another charming town thirty miles south, a beautiful drive on a good road that follows the Russian River all the way.

Both Hydro Pacific Gardening Supply stores display a dizzying array of tools, soil amendments, hydroponic nutrients and lights, greenhouses, climate controllers, natural pest controls, and things you never thought of.  They are staffed by friendly young people who mostly grew up gardening and are delighted to share what they know about the thousands of products offered by Hydro Pacific for 21st century vegetable gardening.

Now Hydro Pacific has a third presence, here on the internet. In January 2010 they launched their fancy new website, www.hydropacific.com, so no matter where you live, you can shop just like you were actually at Hydro Pacific. You can learn lots about herb gardening, indoor gardening, hydroponics, from the blogs and FAQs, email questions to the staff, and find in-depth information about all the products, and have them shipped right to your door.

Hydro Pacific is a real store with real people who stand by their products. You can find cheaper prices on thrown-together websites or in dank little stores that spring up along the road for a season or two. Or you can establish a long term relationship, season after season, with the real people at Hydro Pacific, and enjoy those intangibles that make it all good: a cheerful, helpful attitude, great service, product excellence – and loyalty.
